Atlanta-based Brayvhouse needed more than a website—they needed a visual voice that matched the cultural richness of their narrative films and brand videos. We built them an identity rooted in 90s film and hip-hop aesthetics, then gave them the tools to tell their story independently.

Finding the frame

Brayvhouse came to us with generic portfolio references—clean, minimal sites that said nothing about who they actually were. Through an in-depth brand questionnaire, we discovered their true north: authentic storytelling inspired by Spike Lee, warm cultural textures, and an urban energy that couldn't be contained in standard templates. The challenge wasn't just aesthetic. Founders Kaleb and Tina Mitchell are multihyphenate creatives, not designers or developers. They needed a platform they could confidently update themselves without constant handholding or losing the visual integrity we'd build together.

Color, warmth, action

Inspired by vintage Kodak advertisements, we crafted a palette that feels both nostalgic and alive. Golden yellow (#FEB30D), warm red (#BB4430), and rich blue (#218CAC) bring organic energy, grounded by white and charcoal tones. These aren't just colors—they're the visual translation of authenticity, diversity, and cultural storytelling. With their existing typography, Proxima Nova, already established, we focused on building a complete brand system that honored their urban flair while maintaining professional credibility. Every choice reflected one question: does this feel like Brayvhouse?

Built for independence

The Squarespace site we designed puts their work front and center. The landing page features an autopopulating portfolio grid—publish new work, and it appears instantly. No design tweaks required. Each project showcases both video previews and production stills, giving potential clients an immediate sense of their capabilities. But we didn't stop at a beautiful handoff. We created reusable design sections that follow the established patterns, empowering the team to build new pages themselves. Throughout development, we walked them through every update, building their confidence with the platform until managing their site felt natural, not daunting.

Moving forward together

Brayvhouse now has what they came for: a brand identity that reflects their cultural roots and creative vision, and a digital home they truly own. The team expressed genuine happiness with the deliverables—and more importantly, they feel equipped to keep their story growing. In a market full of generic portfolio sites, Brayvhouse stands out. Not because we built them something complicated, but because we took the time to uncover who they actually are, then gave them the tools to show the world.
